CSJ hosts Family Cricket Tournament at the Oval

EVENT DETAILS

What a day perfect day to give something more to families that struggled the most with the ongoing COVID pandemic. A fun-filled day hosting disadvantaged families in and around London who enjoyed a family outing for a cricket match at the Oval. Apart from all the activities mentioned above families were also able to go on the pitch to experience how to be a cricketer first-hand, with an opportunity for photos.

The families attending were identified by Slough CVS and Akshaya Patra. The Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) and The Akshaya Patra Foundation provided goodie bags for the families to take home with gifts and mementoes of the day.

Gautam Saraogi, a member of the CSJ Advisory Board and Slough CVS Trustee said: “We hope that everyone recognises that who, what, where we are is mostly determined by our family. For too long too many of us have paid lip service to the adage “family is the most important thing”; the lockdown has perhaps highlighted how much truth and wisdom there is in that saying, and the CSJ Family day not only serves to remind us of this but also simply give each of us time-out to celebrate our unit as a whole together.”

Akshaya Patra would like to thank the CSJ for facilitating a fantastic day out for the families. Learn More about OUR WORK IN THE UK.
