Area of Responsibility, Key Activities

Reception Desk · To take responsibility for the reception desk on our Watford site based in Unit S Penfold Trading Estate, Watford. · To manage incoming phone calls and transfer them to the appropriate office staff · To answer donor queries about Akshaya Patra and our work and also take do-nations over the phone · To provide information on our new initiatives and activities · To provide hospitality services to visitors

Administration, Finance and Stock keeping · Support the Accounts Manager in producing monthly Management Reports · Assist the Accounts Manager with receipt/invoice filing and organizing; ac-counting entries into software (Quickbooks + Sage) · To manage petty cash, deposit cheques and handle post · Assist in Gift Aid Claim data compilation · Cover the Accounts Manager when she is on leave · Printing, filing and maintaining physical records for both TAPF and APUK · Manage an inventory of all TAPF fixed and other assets including Kitchen stock keeping and recording · Take responsibility for following up with suppliers, vendors and service provid-ers for activities in our Kitchen premises · Maintenance of both food and non-food stock, including ordering and receiv-ing.

EA · Effective handling and engagement with Guests, media, donors, volunteers and visiting dignitaries. · EA support to CEO (ad hoc)

 

Other Skills

· Strong organisation skills, attention to detail, acumen for numbers and spread-sheets

· Ability to influence senior management, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships

· Strong communication and presentation skills

· Willing to take on responsibility and a strong service orientation

Desirable Experience

1. Experience in catering, hospitality, food services, contracts management, accounts administration

2. Working knowledge of one Indian language is desirable

3. Experience with CRM software (Salesforce)

4. A deep desire to serve in the charity sector and to improve the lives of all those we serve in line with the ethos of Akshaya Patra

5. Full clean driving license

6. Clean DBS record

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is committed to providing a sustainable solution to the problem of hunger and nutrition. TAPF runs the world’s largest not for profit school meals program in addition to serving a large num-ber of homeless and children suffering from Holiday Hunger.

Akshaya Patra UK is looking for an Admin Officer to support our charitable food service initiatives in the UK. This role requires someone with high energy, ability to multitask, who possesses exemplary enthusiasm and is a team worker. The role is a full-time role and will be based out of the TAPF kitchen in Watford.

Mandatory

1. A levels – and someone who is keen on building a career in Finance administration. Those with indus-try experience in accounts administration or customer service will also be considered.

2. Excellent in communication and interpersonal relationships

3. Impeccable telephone manners. Fluency in English
