The Akshaya Patra Foundation is committed to providing a sustainable solution to the problem of hunger and nutrition. TAPF runs the world’s largest not-for-profit school meals program in addition to serving a large number of homeless and children suffering from Holiday Hunger.

Akshaya Patra UK is looking for a Summer Program Associate to support our charitable food service initiatives in the UK. This role requires someone with high physical and mental energy who possesses exemplary enthusiasm and a team worker. The role is Fixed Term for 2 months i.e. between 5th July-10th September, 2021 (Mon-Fri = 40hrs/week) and will be a combination of field-based work in London and office-based work, out of the TAPF kitchen in Watford.

Area of Responsibility Key Activities
Client Liaising
  • To take responsibility for liaising with holiday club providers to ensure their re-quirements have been entered into the system
  • To manage and answer incoming phone calls, understand changing client re-quirements, and facilitate client requests
  • To provide information on our activities for Summer, 2021
  • To possess excellent communication, confidence and client facing skills
  • Adept at using technology including MS Office suite, online applications.
  • Comfort with using new software systems
Administration & Logistics
  • Manage an order book and ensure that all orders are being delivered within re-quired cost, time and quality parameters
  • Take responsibility for following up with suppliers, vendors and service provid-ers for activities in our Kitchen premises
  • To liaise with drivers and volunteers and be responsible for route optimization
  • To take responsibility for arranging effective logistics
  • Able to travel across London regularly
  • Able to meet tight timelines and changing demands from the clients
Feedback
  • To be responsible for conducting focus groups, surveys and interviews with children and adults from varying backgrounds
  • Ability to create online surveys, collate data, derive findings and recommenda-tions
  • Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data and write effective reports
