The Akshaya Patra Foundation is committed to providing a sustainable solution to the problem of hunger and nutrition. TAPF runs the world’s largest not-for-profit school meals program in addition to serving vulnerable groups at risk of food insecurity.

The UK Program Manager supports and develops our charitable food service initiatives in the UK, with a focus on identifying new partners and securing new opportunities to serve. The PM will also manage the UK Program Assistant and will oversee program delivery and development, working closely with the Kitchen Operations Team.

Areas of Responsibility

Projects

  • Build orders for School meals, after-school meals, holiday projects, and special projects including setting TAPF UK up as a registered school meals provider
  • Lead in the procurement of projects and work with Operations Team to deliver all programmes
  • Prepare project and utilisation reports for management and grantors?

Programme Management and Distribution

  • Coordinate operations and work with the Kitchen Ops team for the distribution of meals for all UK Programmes
  • Client relationship management - collect feedback from clients and partners to constantly improve TAPF UK quality, systems, and services

Commercialisation

  • Facilitate and develop commercial capabilities in the Kitchen, in partnership with Operations Team. 
  • Carry out pilot projects to test new initiatives, with the view to fully utilise Kitchen capacity.

Management

  • Co-manage the Executive Admin and Program Assistant.

Fundraising and Partnerships

  • Help identify new grant and foundation opportunities and work with Kitchen operations to meet requirements.
  • Support the management and administration of/for Trusts and Foundations including the application process and any associated report building.
  • Report to senior management and grantors on annual/project performance.

Quality

  • To conduct, participate in internal/external audits and ensure compliance to the relevant standards in cooperation with Ops Team

  • Effective handling and engagement with partners, clients, beneficiaries, guests, media, donors, volunteers, grantors, and visiting dignitaries.

Mandatory

  • University degree – at least 2 years of relevant industry experience ideally in school meals catering, food service, customer relationships, field sales, or Program/Project management
  • Excellent in communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal relationships
  • DBS check
  • A full, clean driving license.

Desirable Experience

  •  Experience in Catering, hospitality, food services, contracts management
